J. Lenhart, Director of Community Development, presented the Municipal 5-year Strategic Plan outline, including the approach taken to develop it, the public engagement process, and its content. He also spoke to the plan’s mandate and mission, vision, aspiration, values and three strategies.

J. Lenhart, Director of Community Development, informed the committee of the project’s objective and provided an update on the strategic plan’s development. J. Lenhart also requested members complete the online survey.

J. Lenhart, Director of Community Development, spoke about the City’s plan to prepare a waterfront development strategy to ensure the 7.5 km stretch of waterfront is accessible to as many residents as possible. The strategy will propel the transformation of the riverfront into a vibrant, sustainable, and connected community space that fosters a strong sense of belonging, drives economic growth and promotes environmental stewardship.

J. Lenhart, Director of Community Development, presented the Clarence-Rockland Festival’s program. He also spoke about the new partnership with Spirited Cultural Events to attempt to attract tourists to the Festival site on Saturday, June 29th. The committee also discussed the Festival’s funding model.

C. Billings spoke about community concern of the lack of shade in certain municipal parks. He is also hopeful this will be addressed in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

J. Lenhart informed the committee of the different categories of parks and amenities typically found in each category.
