The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 pm in order to allow for a closed session. 

The portion of the meeting that is open to the public begins at 7:15 pm.

Clarence-Rockland is situated on the unceded traditional and ancestral land of the Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee Nations. The City of Clarence-Rockland gratefully acknowledges these Indigenous nations for their guardianship of this land, and we honour them.

Land Acquisition on Caron Street

 

At this point, the Regular Council Meeting is adjourned as Council proceeds to a Committee of the Whole session.

WHEREAS in 2019 the Council agreed to contribute 1000$ annually from it’s Operating Budget for the Halloween Festival of the Bourget Optimist Club; and


WHEREAS the Bourget Optimist Club organize a Winter Carnival on an annual basis, which is free of charge to the community; and


WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to include these activities as Signature Events within the Municipal Grants Program Policy to secure a successful longevity of these events;


BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Administration be mandated to prepare a by-law to amend the program 3: Signature Events within the Municipal Grants Program Policy FIN1.1-2024 in order to add two (2) events: Carnaval de Bourget - $3000 and  Bourget Hallowe'en Festival - $1000.


 

WHEREAS some residents have raised concerns with regard to the date restrictions for the parking or storage of recreational vehicles or trailers in residential driveways; and

WHEREAS the Zoning By-law currently provides that a recreational vehicle or trailer may be parked or stored in a driveway between May 1st to October 31st; 

BE IT RESOLVED THAT the administration be mandated to provide a report outlining the process and timelines that would be required to change these dates to April 1st to October 31st.

WHEREAS By-law 2015-172, as amended by By-law 2021-23, establishes the Administration of Performance Deposits;


BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Administration be mandated to provide a report with comparators from other surrounding municipalities and a recommendation to potentially further review Schedule A to By-law 2021-23 in order allow a full refund of the performance deposit if construction is completed and approved within two (2) years of the date of the issuance of the permits, for all permits.

At this point, the Committee of the Whole session is adjourned as Council resumes its Regular Council Meeting.
